R.A.M.P. – the Rockin’ Appalachian Mom Project – an organization founded by Old Greenwich resident and entrepreneur Amy Guerrieri, and committed to providing physical, nutritional, financial and emotional support for the children and families of the Appalachian Mountain area of the United States, by working community-to-community, family-to-family, held a very successful “Give In-Style” fundraiser recently at the beautiful waterfront home of Allison Barlow in Old Greenwich.

More than 65 women gathered to nosh on light lunch fare provided by LexZee Catering and bid on silent auction items, including tickets to Wine Spectator’s New York Wine Experience Grand Tasting in October and Cigar Aficionado’s Big Smoke New York in November; gift certificates from Abigail DeG. Fox Designs, Maria Livesay Salon; and consultations for an Ultimate Closet from Katrina Bischoff of A-Dress the Issue, and Interior Design Consultation from Marcia Tucker Interiors. Participants in the fundraiser were required to donate a package of diapers, along with their ticket price, which will be delivered to families in Martin County, Kentucky, one of the poorest counties in the United States and located in the Appalachian region.

Amy Guerrieri, who was recently profiled on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams for her inspiring work in Kentucky, provided a brief background on R.A.M.P. and its goals. Afterwards, with guests comfortably seated in Barlow’s family room, the group enjoyed the highlight of the R.A.M.P. Give In-Style event that was a fun and interactive presentation by Marcia Tucker of Marcia Tucker Interiors, who gave tips on how to stage, accessorize and decorate a home to bring out its best assets, yet remain on a budget; Katrina Bischoff with A-Dress the Issue, who discussed how to make the most of your closet and the clothes you own; and Yana Mayerman of Pastiche, Inc., of Old Greenwich, who discussed wardrobe basics.
