Stewardship Foundation - A Night in Hong Kong | New York, NY | September 17, 2009

The Stewardship Foundation held a traditional Dim Sum Chinese banquet at Jing Fong Restaurant in Chinatown to benefit their scholarship fund. The mission of the Stewardship Foundation, founded by Marlon Quan, is to provide college scholarships to orphans and young adults from foster and out-of-home care environments who remain unadopted. As these students age out of the system, either voluntarily or involuntarily at age 18, federal and state governmental support drops precipitously. Their scholarships enable students who possess personal and academic promise to attend the school of their choosing by bridging the gap

between tuition, room and board, and related costs and the financial aid provided by the educational institution, government programs, and other sources. Since inception, the Foundation has been active in building its endowment, recruiting volunteers, and establishing relationships locally with out-of-home care agencies, college admissions offices, and high school guidance programs.
