The spirit of competition soared as hundreds of families from throughout the region gathered for “Let the Games Begin!” at the eighth annual Families for Greenwich Hospital (FFGH) event to benefit pediatric programs.

Families from Connecticut and New York enjoyed a day of interactive sports to salute the upcoming Olympic Games, including baseball, field hockey, racing hurdles, basketball, soccer, golf and more.Children of all ages enjoyed pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, arts and crafts and a giant chess board.

The event featured a food tent with healthy snacks and a disc jockey, who played popular tunes.The tug-of-war moderated by CBS Sports analyst Seth Davis was a crowd favorite. Other activities included archery, gymnastics, Tae Kwon Do, plus yoga for children offered by the Greenwich Hospital Center for Integrative Medicine. The FFGH event took place at Greenwich Country Day School on May 31.
