Wound Healing Teaching Day

Open to family physicians, family medicine residents, other primary care physicians, nurses, nurse educators and nurse manager, the teaching day is designed to give those who are key in preventing and treating chronic wounds the tools to properly recognize, diagnose and manage the treatment of patients with chronic wounds. The full-day course will cover how to accurately diagnose pressure ulcers, leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers; apply compression dressings to non-ischemic leg ulcers; and provide leadership for improvement in wound care. Attendees will also learn how to create appropriate management plans for these common wound types. Complementary registration is provided to the first 50 registrants from Burke, the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the New York State Academy of Family Physicians, family medicine residents, family medicine interest group students and BWAFP. To register, send a $30 check written to BWAFP along with your name, address, phone number and email address to Gloria Negron, Secretary-Wound Healing Program, Department of Family and Social Medicine, Montefiori Hospital, 3335 Steuben Avenue, Bronx, NY 10467. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Those who are granted complementary registration will have their checks returned at the end of the conference. Those who attend can earn six AAFP-approved and (continuing education unit) CEU credits.
