Film and Performance: The Hot Club of San Francisco presents Cinema Vivant Coming to Silvermine straight from their engagement at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, The Hot Club of San Francisco, an ensemble of accomplished and versatile musicians celebrating the timeless music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, will present Cinema Vivant. Reviving this lost entertainment of 1930’s Europe, The Hot Club of San Francisco pairs music with film, scoring early silent shorts with live music. Come see the extraordinary work of Ladislaw Starewicz, an early 1900’s Russian pioneer of stop-motion animation. Often called gypsy jazz, the music of The Hot Club of San Francisco has entranced audiences around the globe for over 20 years. Acoustic Guitar hailed the group’s playing as “intricate, scorching and often brilliant.” Not to be missed! Seating is limited, advance reservations are suggested. To purchase advance tickets call 203-966-9700 ext. 22 $15 for members; $20 for non-members
