These two special young artists celebrated the opening of their show at The Greenwich Art Society Gallery on January 8th. They are students of Mary Newcomb, whose class “Studio Time for the Serious Young Artist "meets on Sunday afternoons at the Society from 12:30-3:30pm.
Diego Rabellino is a senior at Greenwich High School and likes to use painting to depict, in suggestive form, the images he loves, which range from the African savannah and Victoria Falls to a plate of yellow risotto.
Daniel Brain is a recent graduate (with honors) of Marist College. Daniel says, “I create large scale pieces on paper and canvas using bright, vivid acrylic colors which reflect my positive outlook on life.”
Newcomb says, “ Both Daniel and Diego are true colorists, this is a very vibrant show because of their creative and expressive use of the color language, these abstract works speak volumes!”
