Smooth Music Cruise Music industry icon, Bob Jamieson, spent nearly 35 years holding executive-level positions with Sony, CBS, BMG and RCA Music Group, and working hand-in-hand with renowned artists such as Christina Aguilera, Foo Fighters and Dave Matthews Band. It was no surprise that after leaving RCA Music Group in 2002, his passion for music stayed with him. With his knowledge and expertise in hand, Jamieson ventured out on his own and founded Haven Entertainment, a Connecticut-based entertainment services company dedicated to producing unique events featuring A-List talent. Under the new banner of Haven Entertainment, Jamieson announced the launch of the 2009 Smooth Music Cruise – the ultimate music vacation. Smooth Music Cruise is a full-ship charter for music fans that offers both a relaxing retreat at sea and a true backstage-pass to Grammy, Tony and Emmy award winners. Setting sail from Miami, FL from January 31 until February 5, 2009 onboard the luxurious Celebrity Century, this six-day/five-night Caribbean cruise features live shows, autograph signings, interview sessions and late-night jam sessions. Onboard, guests will have the ability to converse with the artists they idolize, respect and look up to in a social setting. Who are the performers? Jamieson has enlisted such talent as Norman Brown, Nick Colionne, Boney James, Mindi Abair, Larry Carlton, Heather Headley, Acoustic Alchemy, Greg Adams, Steve Cole, Marion Meadows, Michael Lington, Shilts, Steve Oliver, Chieli Minucci, Alan Hewitt and Althea Renè to join the 2009 Smooth Music Cruise line-up. All of the artists have impressive repertoires from receiving Grammy, Tony and Emmy awards to placing on the top of Billboard and Soul Train Charts.
Larry Carlton
Norman Brown, this year's cruise host, made his debut into the jazz scene in 1992 as a recording artist for MoJazz and quickly went on to win substantial acclaim. His second album, "After the Storm," received a Soul Train Jazz Album of the Year award, and remained on the charts for over two years. Brown is also the 2002 Grammy Award Winner for Best Pop Instrumental Album. His compilation, "The Very Best of Norman Brown," was one of the best selling smooth music albums of 2005 and 2006.
Norman Brown
Nick Colionne, host of the Smooth Music Cruise’s official jam-session, infuses his performances with a unique blend of jazz, funk, R&B and blues. He was honored with the prestigious 2007 International Instrumentalist Artists of the Year Award at the Canadian Smooth Jazz Festival. Colionne recently released a new CD titled No Limits on Koch Records.
